Each August, the streets of Naha come alive with the thunder of taiko drums as over 10,000 eisa dancers march along Kokusai Street, the city’s bustling hub for shopping and dining.
Spectators can enjoy imaginative eisa performances by energetic youth groups and seasoned local dancers, and even join the excitement themselves by registering with the Niwaka Eisa Dance Group (participation fee applies).
